Questions people ask

When is the first service of the Shine 125?

At 750–1,000 km or 15–30 days from the date of sale, whichever comes earlier.

How many free services does the Shine 125 get?

Three: at 750–1,000 km (15–30 days), 5,500–6,000 km (165–180 days) and 11,500–12,000 km (350–365 days), whichever comes earlier.

How often should the Shine 125 be serviced after the free services?

Every 6,000 km or 6 months, whichever comes first.

Which engine oil does the Shine 125 use?

Honda lists SAE 5W-30 for the Shine 125. Grades have changed between model years, so use the one printed in your owner's manual. It takes about 0.85 litre at an oil change (1.0 litre after an engine overhaul).

How often should I lube the chain?

Every 500–1,000 km, and after riding in rain. Keep the slack as marked in the manual — a dry or loose chain costs mileage and wears the sprockets.
