MotorBabu ("the app") is operated by MotorBabu Private Limited ("MotorBabu", "we", "us", "our"). This page explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and how you can control or remove it.

Information we collect

• Phone number — used to sign you in, via a one-time code sent by SMS. This is the only way to create an account; there are no passwords or usernames.
• Name (optional) — if you choose to add one in your profile, it's shown in the app so it's clear whose account it is.
• Vehicle information you enter — brand, model, registration number, vehicle type, and odometer readings.
• Maintenance records you enter — what you logged (oil, tyres, battery, brakes, or other work), dates, brands/parts, and any notes you write.

We don't collect location data, contacts, or photos from your device (unless you explicitly attach one to a record, a feature not yet available in the app), or any information you didn't type into the app yourself. The app itself runs no analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind — see "Analytics on this website" below for the separate, limited analytics used on motorbabu.com.

How we use this information

Solely to provide the app's core purpose: signing you in, and storing and displaying the vehicle and maintenance records you create. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers, and we do not use it for any purpose beyond running the app.

Where your information is stored

Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted database, and a local copy is kept on your device for offline access via PowerSync — this is what lets the app work without an internet connection, syncing automatically once you're back online. Both are standard infrastructure providers that host the app's data; neither uses your information for their own purposes.

Third parties involved

• Supabase — hosts our database and handles account sign-in.
• Our SMS delivery provider — delivers the one-time sign-in code to your phone number. Your phone number is shared with this provider only for that purpose.
• PowerSync — powers the offline/local-sync functionality between your device and our database.

None of these providers are permitted to use your information for their own purposes beyond providing this infrastructure to us.

Analytics on this website

This website (motorbabu.com) — not the app — uses Google Analytics to understand traffic, like which pages are visited and roughly how many people visit. It doesn't have access to your MotorBabu account, phone number, or any vehicle or maintenance data, none of which ever leaves the app's own infrastructure.

Data retention and deletion

Your information is kept for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account — this immediately and permanently removes your account, every vehicle, and every maintenance record, with no recovery period. This action cannot be undone.

Your rights

You can view, edit, or delete any vehicle or maintenance record directly in the app at any time. You can delete your entire account and all associated data as described above. If you have any other request regarding your data, contact us using the details below.

Children's privacy

MotorBabu is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
