From Ather's service FAQs and service guide, which give the 5,000 km interval for Ather scooters, including the 450 series and the Rizta. Ather doesn't publish a months interval on these pages. Missing the periodic services can void the warranty. Ather Care plans (bought separately) include two free periodic maintenance sessions within 12 months or 10,000 km.

Questions people ask

How often should an Ather 450 or Rizta be serviced?

Once every 5,000 km. Ather calls it usage-based periodic maintenance: the service is due by distance ridden, and it applies to the 450 series and the Rizta alike.

Does an Ather need an oil change?

No. There's no engine oil, oil filter, spark plug or clutch to replace. A periodic service is a check of around 25–30 points — moving parts, electronics and consumables such as brake pads and the belt.

Are Ather services free?

Ather's pages don't list standard free services. Its paid Ather Care plans include two free periodic maintenance sessions within 12 months or 10,000 km, and you must have ridden at least 4,700 km since the last service to use one. Ask your service centre what applies to your scooter.

How long do the belt and brake pads last?

Ather's own estimate, from averages across its scooters, is about 30,000 km for the belt and 10,000 km for the brakes. Your riding changes this, so the service centre checks them at every service.

Can skipping a service affect the Ather warranty?

Yes. Ather's standard warranty is 3 years or 30,000 km, and it says missing the periodic services in its service schedule can void it.
